In which I am two!

Hello everyone....

today is my second birthday! We all had yummy tuna for tea and mummy Gill gave me pressies - I got a ball which isn't so much fun really but I haven't told her yet - and a squishy thing with a feather like a tail which I love and have nearly killed already! Here's a photo of me practising killing the squishy thing (look at those claws - wow!)

It's been ages since I last blogged and there was me thinking I'd get more computer time this year - huh! It's been a rather sad year with auntie Suki and auntie Sharni both going to the Rainbow Bridge. But uncle Pickle is still here and still lets me play with him although I have to be careful because he gets grumpy sometimes. Mummy Sassy is going to give me my birthday pressies at the end of August I think - mummy Gill keeps saying I will get some new brothers and sisters but I will have to be very gentle with them for several weeks.

Mummy Gill has been at home for absolutely ages and it's been nice to have her at home although I did like jumping in her huge bag when it had all her clothes in it! She says she will be at home for ages yet. While she was away we had a new room fitted on the house - well actually it looks the same as the room that was there before but cooler and whiter and there's less furniture although all my toys are still there - and we were looked after by people who came to visit everyday and it was fun seeing new people but it was good when mummy came home, she said it was something to do with some volcano, whatever that is. And I hid from the building men and the carers thought I was scared, but I wasn't, it was just that I didn't want to scare the builders 'cos I knew they had lots of work to do.

I never seem to be able to open the bedroom door now, I jump and jump but it stays shut, I must be losing my touch! But the weather has been so hot and sunny recently that I spend almost all my time outside which is very exciting but the long grass in my cat run has turned to sone strange straw-like stuff, and it's not so much fun to hide in any more because it's a bit spikey!

I'll write again soon when my miniature kitten pressies arrive! Byeeee!

Something called Christmas.....

.... followed by something called New Year.

We've been home from the cattery for ages and it's been great to be somewhere where the radiators are on almost all the time and I can eat almost anything (actually it's mostly Sharni's food) and I can do my jumping trick at the bedroom door again.

Actually the cattery isn't so bad - the nice people there cuddle me a lot and let me eat lots of food and play with me, but I can't run around a lot so when I come home I go absolutely mad and rush about and jump on and off all the furniture and mum says it sounds like a herd of elephants when I run up and down the stairs. I don't know what an elephant is but I don't think she's being complimentary.

Anyway, then mum put a tree up in the house, and it had lots of dangly things on it which I thought was great, lots of new toys for me to play with. And it lit up with pretty coloured lights, which I chewed but they didn't taste very nice, sort of crunchy but a bit plasticky so I didn't try those again. And all round the pictures there was this sparkly string stuff, which was really fun to pull on and chew. Mum got really cross so I don't do it any more.

And finally there was lots of nice food and fireworks and loud bangs; Sassy was a bit scared but I just jumped on her and took her mind off the bangs and she was okay again.

Suki wasn't very well for a while but mum took her to the vet and she had an injection which was okay apparently and she's feeling better now. Suki, that is, not mum.

It's been nice to have mum home and she's been around for ages. I jump on her and her computer when she least expects me; I especially like leaping up onto the back of the sofa and then landing on her computer when she's typing on it. She yells at me when I do that but I can tell she likes it really.

Apparently mum has made a new year resolution to let me play with the computer more in 2010, whatever that is. I don't think it involves more food but maybe I'll be able to update you more often with my blog.

All the humans are saying Happy New Year so I suppose I should say it too, whatever it means... actually I'll say my version, which is "happy and healthy purring and lots of headrubs to all my fans!"

In which I play with more wrapping paper

Mum's mum and dad came to visit yesterday. They brought mummy presents. I wanted to know why I didn't get any but I was told it wasn't my birthday this time but hers. But she let me play with some of the paper when she'd taken it off.

We just came back from the cattery again. It got chilly at night but we had big warm beds and lots of blankets to snuggle into. The gorgeous Suki was not very well so she went off to hospital somewhere and we came home without her, but she has come home tonight. I have tried not to jump on her too much as she isn't better yet.

I am still trying to open the bedroom door. I don't know what mum has done but I can't do it now. I know I am landing on the door handle but it doesn't open it any more. Mum says she has locked it, and I don't think tht's fair.

It's very noisy here at the moment. I think mummy Sassy is calling her boyfriend but he's not around. I wish she'd have more kittens. Then I'd have someone to play with. Mummy Gill says Sassy has to wait a while until all her travelling is finished. That could be another 6 months! Can I stand the noise???

In which I learn a new trick...

... and mum is really cross about it :-)

There are two rooms at the top of the stairs which always have the doors closed. Mum calls them the bedrooms and she says it's to make sure she has somewhere that doesn't get cat fur in it.

Anyway I got really fed-up not being allowed in these rooms. After all why shouldn't I go in them? I have to sleep as well and I like a nice snuggly duvet just as much as the next cat. So I've learned how to open the doors. It's great fun and I get lots of exercise while I do it. I jump up at the handles and when I catch hold of them they pull downwards and the doors swing open. And I get to go in!

Mum can hear me jumping at the doors so I have to get it first time otherwise she comes to get me and carries me downstairs and shuts all the doors so I can't run about so much - or get to the bedrooms. But it's great fun. She says she's going to get new handles... but she hasn't done so yet!

I'm bored

...because mum is away again and we are stuck in a big pen at Auntie Rosie's house. But people do come in and feed us which is most important.

Anyway the wonder of the internet means that I can post here to say a humungous "well done!" to my baby niece Burmarose Chiara Chocolat for doing so brilliantly in her very first show! Purrs and all power to your headrubs... well done sweetie!

Love Teddy xx

In which I have a birthday!

(whatever that is!)

But anyway, it's great fun, having a birthday. I got lots of cuddles this morning, I was picked up and mum carried me around saying how much I'd grown in one year. She sang happy birthday to me but I'm not sure that was a great idea really LOL

Anyway then she had to go to work - she says she has to go there every day so she can get money to buy my food and toys and other stuff - but this evening when she came home we had yummy wet food, all of us, so we all got to party together and I ate mine and some of everyone else's too.

Then we played with toys and I ran around loads and now I'm all tired out and flopped on the sofa. Mummy G sent birthday greetings to my brothers and sisters on her computer. I didn't know we all had one! Tui wrote back, it was nice to hear from her and I hope she had a good birthday too.

Can I have another birthday tomorrow?

Just a quickie...

... mum has been very mysterious today. She keeps cuddling me and saying that tomorrow is a big day for me. Wonder what can possibly be happening? I hope it has something to do with food! I'll let you know....
