Mum's mum and dad came to visit yesterday. They brought mummy presents. I wanted to know why I didn't get any but I was told it wasn't my birthday this time but hers. But she let me play with some of the paper when she'd taken it off.
We just came back from the cattery again. It got chilly at night but we had big warm beds and lots of blankets to snuggle into. The gorgeous Suki was not very well so she went off to hospital somewhere and we came home without her, but she has come home tonight. I have tried not to jump on her too much as she isn't better yet.
I am still trying to open the bedroom door. I don't know what mum has done but I can't do it now. I know I am landing on the door handle but it doesn't open it any more. Mum says she has locked it, and I don't think tht's fair.
It's very noisy here at the moment. I think mummy Sassy is calling her boyfriend but he's not around. I wish she'd have more kittens. Then I'd have someone to play with. Mummy Gill says Sassy has to wait a while until all her travelling is finished. That could be another 6 months! Can I stand the noise???

In which I learn a new trick...
... and mum is really cross about it :-)
There are two rooms at the top of the stairs which always have the doors closed. Mum calls them the bedrooms and she says it's to make sure she has somewhere that doesn't get cat fur in it.
Anyway I got really fed-up not being allowed in these rooms. After all why shouldn't I go in them? I have to sleep as well and I like a nice snuggly duvet just as much as the next cat. So I've learned how to open the doors. It's great fun and I get lots of exercise while I do it. I jump up at the handles and when I catch hold of them they pull downwards and the doors swing open. And I get to go in!
Mum can hear me jumping at the doors so I have to get it first time otherwise she comes to get me and carries me downstairs and shuts all the doors so I can't run about so much - or get to the bedrooms. But it's great fun. She says she's going to get new handles... but she hasn't done so yet!

I'm bored
...because mum is away again and we are stuck in a big pen at Auntie Rosie's house. But people do come in and feed us which is most important.
Anyway the wonder of the internet means that I can post here to say a humungous "well done!" to my baby niece Burmarose Chiara Chocolat for doing so brilliantly in her very first show! Purrs and all power to your headrubs... well done sweetie!
Love Teddy xx

In which I have a birthday!
(whatever that is!)
But anyway, it's great fun, having a birthday. I got lots of cuddles this morning, I was picked up and mum carried me around saying how much I'd grown in one year. She sang happy birthday to me but I'm not sure that was a great idea really LOL
Anyway then she had to go to work - she says she has to go there every day so she can get money to buy my food and toys and other stuff - but this evening when she came home we had yummy wet food, all of us, so we all got to party together and I ate mine and some of everyone else's too.
Then we played with toys and I ran around loads and now I'm all tired out and flopped on the sofa. Mummy G sent birthday greetings to my brothers and sisters on her computer. I didn't know we all had one! Tui wrote back, it was nice to hear from her and I hope she had a good birthday too.
Can I have another birthday tomorrow?

Just a quickie...
... mum has been very mysterious today. She keeps cuddling me and saying that tomorrow is a big day for me. Wonder what can possibly be happening? I hope it has something to do with food! I'll let you know....

In which there's lots of news
Well hallo again!
Another long gap in my blog - I really must get mum to write it up for me more often! Some great news - my big sister Charley has written a blog too! It's all about her kittens and their new outdoor run. It sounds really good.
Mum has been away again, another work thing to Denmark and another holiday with lots of cyclists from Russia. They went all the way to Scotland. One of them had a bike accident and hurt his shoulder and his ribs. We stayed at home for the first trip and stayed with Auntie Rosie for the second one. Our nice friend Bill came to look after us. He plays with me and gives me lots of food. I like him a lot.
Auntie Suki and Auntie Sharni have been on tablets. Sharni is a bit skinny so she has to eat more. Suki has had more problems with her mouth but she's better again. It wasn't her kidmeys after all.
class and got a certificate which says Master Cat. Mum says I have to get two more for me to be called a Master Cat but she says I am a master anyway. It was a long way and I rode in a basket in the car. I like going in the car, I talk a lot to keep mum awake and prevent accidents. Pickle went too. He likes going out and always jumps in the basket when mum gets one out. He says he never goes anywhere so this time she took him along. He was being used as a demo cat. The judges got him out and talked about him. He says they were nice to him, given that he's very old.
Hope you enjoy Charley's blog! There are new photos of my brothers Talisker (Charley's litter brother) and Watson (my litter brother) on the friends page so do go and look!

In which I update everybody!
Well, so much has been happening recently that I haven't had time to post my blog!
First off, I became an uncle! My older sister Charley had 3 babies - well she had more but sadly some didn't make it. But I have three nephews and nieces (not sure how many of each at the moment!) and mummy Gill is going to see them all soon. I think there are some photos on the website somewhere so please make sure you look out for them...
Auntie Suki - she's the gorgeous old one - hasn't been very well. Gerard, the nice man in the blue coat (why does everyone think vets wear white?) told mummy Gill that he thought it was kidney failure. Mum was very upset and Suki got fed from a syringe with something mum calls liquid gold but which is actually called Fortol which made Suki put lots of weight back on. So maybe it isn't full kidney failure after all but Suki is very subdued although mummy Gill does get her to eat every so often which is a good thing. And she has to have tablets every day. So I'm being very gentle with Suki at the moment and not jumping on her to play.
Mummy Gill has been away twice since I last wrote. The first time she was away for a week to somewhere called Abu Dhabi. That was for "work", the second time she was on "holiday" to somewhere called Cyprus. Both times we have had lots of nice people come to look after us, and they like to play with me and give me food although for some reason I'm not allowed to eat the wet food any more 'cos mum thinks I'm getting fat. I don't think I'm fat. Anyway what's the point of wasting the food if the oldies don't want it?
Anyway mum has been around lots recently which is nice cos I get to cuddle with her when I come in from the garden, which isn't often. I like the garden. It has lots of flying things which buzz at me when I try to catch them. They're called bees. And there are other things called flies. They're easier to catch and I knock them to the ground and eat them. It has been very warm and I like being outside when it's warm. Better than that white cold stuff we had before. There's a ledge that I sit on all the time and watch what's happening. Before she went on holiday mum cut all the grass in our run. I didn'tlike that. Before, I could sneak up on the others and jump on them. Now they know I'm there and I can't hide any more.
Oh, I forgot to tell you about Easter! I did like Easter. There were boxes with holes cut out especially for me to play in. Mum said she had to take the chocolate out first but I wasn't bothered about that. The boxes had head-shaped holes so I could look out, and mum put my toys in and watched and laughed as I tried to get them out again. I think it was mean to laugh but I'm glad I entertained everyone. Here's me in my box peeping out.

In which we go on holiday
We've been on holiday for ages! Mummy Gill went off on a work trip and we went to stay with Auntie Rosie and Uncle Barrie. We had a big house all to ourselves and it had a snuggly room and beds that were heated, and we had our blankets and some of our toys as well. It had ledges where we could climb and sit and look out although we were at the back so the view wasn't great. But the nice ladies who looked after us gave us lots of cuddles every day, and they didn't forget to feed us, and they played with us too sometimes.
It was okay to start with but I'd never been away before and after a while I began to think that we'd be here for ever. But Pickle looked after me and told me that mummy Gill would be back eventually. Mummy Sassy told me that she'd come here one time when my big sister Charley and my big brother Bruno were only a few weeks old. She told me it's where my daddy King lives but I didn't get to meet him; Sassy told me he probably had a girlfriend visiting but she wasn't at all jealous.
Talking of Charley, I'm going to be something called an Uncle. I think that could be fun, but I'm not sure. Pickle says he's Suki and Sharni's uncle. But they live with us and I don't live with Charley. I think it's something to do with her having babies.
It was lovely when we went home. Mummy Gill's parents collected us and took us home again. It was so nice to curl up on our big soft sofa and to be able to go out in the garden. They gave us huge bowls of food. Sassy ran round the house in circles, and up and down the stairs for ages. We snuggled all together until the next morning when mummy Gill came home. We all went to meet her at the door and she picked us all up and hugged us really tight. I think she missed us too.
This week she has been at work for 3 days and now it's Easter. I think I'll like Easter because there's chocolate. I don't like the chocolate itself but it comes in big boxes. I wonder if I'll get one to play with...? Being me is so exciting!
Bye for now...

In which we have a party
Hi everyone!
We had a party today. When mum got home from work, she gave us special yummy wet food, not the dry stuff we normally crunch on. And there were new toys - catnip mice - for us to play with. Mum said it's because it's my "auntie" Suki and Sharni's birthday. Apparently they're 14 years old! They both had a little play with them but then they left them for me to play instead. I like playing, it's almost as exciting as eating.
I spent some time in the garden at the weekend. The weather was dry and not snowy. I liked the snow a bit although it made my feet chilly. Anyway, I spent lots of time rushing around our enclosed play area, and climbing up onto the ledges so I could see the birds better.
I haven't had any ill-effects from my operation. I just feel a bit lighter but I'm making up for it with eating lots! Mum says there are some bits missing but I haven't noticed. The vet was really nice and the nurses all loved me. But mum says I don't have to go back for ages now, she hopes!
My older sister Charley has got a boyfriend. She's the gorgeous one on the friends page. I'd be her boyfriend if I could but I can't 'cos I don't have the bits, whatever they have to do with it. And mum says I can't be a boyfriend to my sister. Charley keeps shouting at her mum Steph to take her to see her fella. She's been three times. She must like him a lot...

In which I have an operation...
Hi fans...
well yesterday I went back to meet that nice vet who mum said would have a big impact on my life. I don't know why she said that, because he's really nice to me, but apparently sometimes vets can be a bit bossy.
Anyway mum left me there in my basket and I was shouting a lot because she hadn't given me any food since the night before, but the ladies in green - they're called nurses - gave me cuddles and looked after me. They cut a bit of fur off my leg and then I went to sleep for a bit which was fine, and when I woke up I was being fussed over again by the nurses and they kept checking my bottom for some reason. Anyway it felt a bit sore and I checked it out and I think there's something missing, but never mind, I felt fine and I was given some food - at last! - and then later in the day mum came back to get me and took me home and that was that.
Mum has made a fuss of me, she said the nurses told her I had to be kept quiet but she found that really difficult because I'd been so lazy that I wanted to rush about everywhere, and I kept taking her toys to throw for me and she kept wanting to cuddle me but I didn't want to, so in the end she just let me wear myself out.
Today I've been really lively too, I went out in the garden and checked out the cat run, but even though it's sunny it was still cold outside, so I came back indoors and tried to snuggle up with Suki who was in a sunny patch inside, but she got annoyed 'cos I kept wanting her to play with me and she just wanted to lie in the sunshine. Never mind, I quite liked lying there with her, she's very nice but can be a bit snooty; sometimes I think it's because she's really old and she's a beautiful cat who's won loads of things at shows.
Mum heard from my sister Tui's mum too; she had an operation as well (Tui,that is) and has to wear a lampshade on her head. How embarrassing is that! That's because she's got stitches in her tummy. I haven't got any in my tummy. Mum tells me it's a different operation for Tui. But apparently Tui is doing really well. My other sisters haven't had an operation yet but I think they'll have one soon. It's fine, everyone fusses over you, but i didn't like the bit when I couldn't have breakfast.
More soon....

Lots of white stuff!
Wow, what happened? Just overnight on Sunday the world changed! I went to sleep and everything was normal, then I woke up yesterday and everything was white and there was all this floaty stuff in the sky. Mum called it snow. It was piled up everywhere and I could hardly see over it through the window; I had to climb on a chair to see the garden.
Anyway, I did sneak outside. Our run and pen wasn't quite as deep as on the grass, but it was still snowy - it's cold stuff and it stuck to my paws. I jumped through it to reach my favourite ledge and I sat there for a few minutes and looked at all the birds trying to find somewhere to perch that wasn't snowy. Then I came back indoors 'cos it was sooooo cold!
Mum has been at home because her trains aren't working; she lets me snuggle up close and keep warm. Today she had to go into our pen because she saw two birds in there. They had got in through a bit of the roof that broke. Mum went out to fix it and let the birds go. If I'd seen them first I'd have gone to play with them, but mum let me go out later and she took a couple of pictures of me in the run so you could see me in the snow. Hope my brothers and sisters have got this fun stuff too!

I find a new game!
Our house has this tiny room called a bathroom. It's a room that the bath is in. And a basin. They often have water in. I haven't fallen in yet - mum says it's just a matter of time - but I like putting my paw in the water and licking it off. Sometimes there's white foamy stuff in the bath. It floats on the top of the water. Doesn't taste very nice though. Anyway....
when mum gets all wet she uses a huge fluffy towel to dry off. The towel is usually nice and warm cos it hangs on a rail over the radiator. I've discovered that I can play and stay warm.
I climb onto the basin then wriggle along the towel rail until I reach the end, where I can reach the dangly thing that makes the light turn on and off. I balance really carefully and bat the dangly thing back and forward. It's great fun. Yesterday mum took a photo of me. Do you like it?
