So that was Christmas!

Well, so that was Christmas! It lived up to expectations, I must say. There was lots of food and lots of paper. I liked the paper a lot. There were toys wrapped in it. Some came from our friend Chloe, a lilac burmese who lives in Florida. I think her mum Suzanne sent them to us 'cos Chloe can't reach the postbox. We sent some toys to her too but mum had to get them at a show and she was late for Christmas - sorry Chloe! There was a green furry mouse with a bell on the end of its tail. I like carrying that around. Pickle likes the soft furry ball but it doesn't do much - perfect for him now he's getting old LOL! The rest of the gang left most of the unwrapping to me - I think they did that 'cos they haven't got the energy like I have.

Mummy Gill went to her mum and dad for the day so we were on our own but we had the Christmas tree to play with and there're a few balls on it which I managed to knock down so I had something to play with. Mum was a bit cross but I think she forgave me because when she'd picked them up she gave us all our pressies. And food of course! We had mum's parents to visit on Boxing Day and there was lots of nice food to eat... I ate ham for the first time, and pork. Mum made a chocolate cake but I didn't like that. Funny, 'cos I like butter a lot....

On Saturday I was running around with mummy Sassy and chasing her all over the house. She rushed out through the cat flap and I was going so fast after her I just went straight out too. I was really scary to start with because all of a sudden I went from somewhere really warm to somewhere really cold. The ground was hard and there were bits of green waving around. Sassy ran straight along a closed-in tunnel but I could still see out through the sides. I went a bit more slowly 'cos I wasn't sure about this new stuff. Then I came to a really bright area which was a bit warmer so I sat there for a bit. Mum said I was sitting in the sun. I liked the sun. She came into the garden and watched me. She said that she needed to make sure I was safe and couldn't get out. Further down the tunnel it opened into a big area, lots of green stuff called grass, and things to climb and ledges to sit on. I loved it! I ran all round and jumped on the ledges and chewed some of the grass but I didn't like that much so I spat it out again. My feet and ears got really cold after a while so I went back up the tunnel and indoors again. Mum cuddled me a lot and warmed my toes. But now I know what outside is like, I go there all the time. I don't like it when it's dark so I just go out in the day time. I can get so much closer to the birds and they don't see me 'cos I hide behind the grass and watch them. But I can't catch them - when I try I just bump into the wire that keeps them the other side. I like being outside! And there's loads of space for me to run and jump and climb.
Apparently it's something called New Year soon. I wonder what that will be like? Hope all my brothers and sisters have had as much fun for Christmas as I did and that they will have a good New Year too. (I think that's something the humans say.)

It's nearly Christmas!

It's been a busy time since I last wrote. Mum went away for a few days and we had a nice man come in twice a day to look after us. Iwasn't very naughty because I didn't think it was fair on him. He stayed with us a bit each time and played with me.

Last weekend I went to a Show. I wasn't allowed to say before because apparently it's supposed to be a secret, in case any of the Judges read my blog and know it's me. Suki went too. She told me all about it. I had to sit in a pen all day and lots of people kept looking at me and saying how cute I was. I was very good and slept a lot. Actually it was all a bit boring. Mum put a litter tray in for me but there was no way I was going to use it in front of all those people.

Anyway, I got a big Red Rosette which had First Open on it. Mum was very pleased and she took me out of the pen and gave me lots of cuddles. I got some smaller rosettes too - another red one and a blue one and a couple of yellow ones. All the judges were nice - at first I thought they were the vet again 'cos they all wore white coats, but they just cuddled me and held me up in the air so I could see all round the hall. (Actually my vet wears a blue or green coat!) There were loads of other cats - some weren't as good as me though. Suki got lots of posh rosettes but she's older than me and been doing shows a long time. She got something called an Imperial and a Best of Breed. I didn't get those but mum said I was the best kitten even if the judges didn't realise it.

Then on Sunday mum put a tree up in the lounge! It looks just like the ones outside. I thought about climbing it but mum wasn't very pleased when I chewed the branches so I thought maybe she'd be even more cross if I climbed up. Maybe I'll do that when she's not at home. Later on she put lots of sparkly lights and glittery string and dangly things all over it. It's so clearly designed for me to play with that I don't understand why she gets cross if I try to bat the dangly things across the room. She says it's for Christmas. I think I'm going to like Christmas. Mum's been getting boxes out and wrapping them in paper. The others tell me that the paper all comes off again and they get to play with it. Sometimes they get to tear the paper off and keep the thing inside. I wonder if I'll get to do that? Apparently Christmas isn't too many days away now. I'm getting so excited! Maybe I'll celebrate by going outside!

Hope all my bothers and sisters are having fun Christmasses in their houses too. Lots of purrs to them all!

Hi everyone!

I've been pretty good this week so not much to tell you about. There's some important news though - tomorrow I am going to The Vet. I think he's someone quite important who will have a big influence on my life in the future but tomorrow mum is just asking him about my claw because she thinks it's not attached to my leg properly. It doesn't hurt though - I don't know what all the fuss is about. My other mum Sassy is going too, for something called her annual vaccs. I had some of those when I was little and I was very brave. Didn't realise I have to have them every year!

I still haven't let on about whther I went outside but I haven't since. It's been very cold and I cuddle up close with mum on the sofa while she watches television. I think TV is great. Haven't managed to catch any of the little people yet but I keep trying. Why are they so small? I guess they have to be to get inside that box thing.

Still waiting for Christmas. Mum says she'll be at home a lot. That will be nice. I know she has to go to work to earn money for our food - and that's really important cos my food is reeeeally nice - but it's nice when she's home too. She plays with me and throws my toys a long way so I have to run after them. She says it's to wear me out so I sleep better. When she throws them in the kitchen I slide along the floor as well. Apparently it's like a skating rink for me. I like the idea of having my own special skating rink. Humans seem to have them as well but theirs are all white and a bit wet on top. I learnt this from the TV.

And I just discovered sometimes mum leaves her cooking saucepans in the sink before she washes them. I've found I can get extra helpings if I climb in the sink without her seeing. Now she's got crafty and shuts the door so I can't get in. But sometimes she forgets - that's great!

Better go now, I think food is nearly ready - again....

Hallo everyone, it's me again!

Well what a few days it's been. Mum has been a bit cross with me. I broke a dish and knocked a green thing off a shelf. It had lots of brown stuff in the pot and it all fell out on the floor. This happened last night while mum wasn't indoors. Funny, she knew it was me though. She told me off for ruining her plant, whatever that is. She cleaned it up very carefully and put the green thing back in the pot. I think she hopes it will get better....

I think she thinks I've been outside. I had very cold toes and she cuddled me to get them warm again. She asked if I'd been outside. I didn't say anything, just looked very smug and enjoyed the cuddles. She still doesn't know!

I love television. I know it's bad to sit too close to the screen but how can you watch properly otherwise? I like to try to catch the things that move around on the screen. Yesterday I sat on top and looked down. Everything was upside down but it was like fishing. I just know I'd be good at fishing. Mum told me that while she was laughing at me. One day I expect I'll discover what fishing is; maybe it's something that's done outside.

My brother Watson and sister Tui wrote to mum this week, and my big sister Charley sent a photo of me trying to escape when I was little. Here it is! My brothers and sisters are watching in amazement - I think! I think mum's put some updates on her blog. Watson sent photos. Tui says she'll send photos after Christmas. I'm looking forward to Christmas. Apparently there's lots of paper to play with and yummy food. I like my food!

More soon!

My first blog!

Hi everyone!

My name's Teddy - ok, you probably got that already! I was born on 29 July 2008 to my mum Sassy and my human mum Gill. That makes me nearly 4 months old already!

All my brothers and sisters left home to go live with other humans and their families but I got to stay at home with everyone. While I was still little my grandmum died - that was Min - and everyone was very sad for a while. But there are lots of photos around and everyone tells me that I'm like her when I bring my toys back when I'm playing.

I like living in my home - there are lots of things to play with and my mum Sassy lets me play with her, I really like the way she flicks her tail around. The other cat family are nice too even Sharni who was a bit mean for a while but now she's only mean when I jump on her from the top of the stairs. She doesn't like that much and gets all hissy.

I love my food and eat everything that's put in front of me. Today I tried to climb on top of my human mum's mum who was eating soup at the table. I did my clever trick of climbing onto her shoulder from the sideboard. It was great fun. Everyone fussed over me but I never got to eat any soup.

There are lots of things to see through the glass - I tried to run through it once but it got in the way - weird stuff. I watch strange things in the garden that run around on two legs but aren't humans - mum calls them birds. I hide and then jump out when they get close. They fly away and don't want to play with me. At the moment it's really cold so I haven't been outside yet. Human mum worries that I will go out when she's not around and then I won't be able to get back in. There's a thing called a cat flap. It's like I go through when I want to use the toilet. I think the garden is bigger than the toilet though. Maybe I'll try it out one day soon.

Anyway that's my introduction! If any of my brothers and sisters want to say anything you can always use my blog spot. Just email human mum and she will add it!

Bye for now - write to me if you want care of human's mum's email address!
