In which I have an operation...

Hi fans...

well yesterday I went back to meet that nice vet who mum said would have a big impact on my life. I don't know why she said that, because he's really nice to me, but apparently sometimes vets can be a bit bossy.

Anyway mum left me there in my basket and I was shouting a lot because she hadn't given me any food since the night before, but the ladies in green - they're called nurses - gave me cuddles and looked after me. They cut a bit of fur off my leg and then I went to sleep for a bit which was fine, and when I woke up I was being fussed over again by the nurses and they kept checking my bottom for some reason. Anyway it felt a bit sore and I checked it out and I think there's something missing, but never mind, I felt fine and I was given some food - at last! - and then later in the day mum came back to get me and took me home and that was that.

Mum has made a fuss of me, she said the nurses told her I had to be kept quiet but she found that really difficult because I'd been so lazy that I wanted to rush about everywhere, and I kept taking her toys to throw for me and she kept wanting to cuddle me but I didn't want to, so in the end she just let me wear myself out.

Today I've been really lively too, I went out in the garden and checked out the cat run, but even though it's sunny it was still cold outside, so I came back indoors and tried to snuggle up with Suki who was in a sunny patch inside, but she got annoyed 'cos I kept wanting her to play with me and she just wanted to lie in the sunshine. Never mind, I quite liked lying there with her, she's very nice but can be a bit snooty; sometimes I think it's because she's really old and she's a beautiful cat who's won loads of things at shows.

Mum heard from my sister Tui's mum too; she had an operation as well (Tui,that is) and has to wear a lampshade on her head. How embarrassing is that! That's because she's got stitches in her tummy. I haven't got any in my tummy. Mum tells me it's a different operation for Tui. But apparently Tui is doing really well. My other sisters haven't had an operation yet but I think they'll have one soon. It's fine, everyone fusses over you, but i didn't like the bit when I couldn't have breakfast.

More soon....

Lots of white stuff!

Wow, what happened? Just overnight on Sunday the world changed! I went to sleep and everything was normal, then I woke up yesterday and everything was white and there was all this floaty stuff in the sky. Mum called it snow. It was piled up everywhere and I could hardly see over it through the window; I had to climb on a chair to see the garden.

Anyway, I did sneak outside. Our run and pen wasn't quite as deep as on the grass, but it was still snowy - it's cold stuff and it stuck to my paws. I jumped through it to reach my favourite ledge and I sat there for a few minutes and looked at all the birds trying to find somewhere to perch that wasn't snowy. Then I came back indoors 'cos it was sooooo cold!

Mum has been at home because her trains aren't working; she lets me snuggle up close and keep warm. Today she had to go into our pen because she saw two birds in there. They had got in through a bit of the roof that broke. Mum went out to fix it and let the birds go. If I'd seen them first I'd have gone to play with them, but mum let me go out later and she took a couple of pictures of me in the run so you could see me in the snow. Hope my brothers and sisters have got this fun stuff too!
